Power Opt-In

In-Canon, Darkstalker is an accomplished mind-reader, being that he is a Nightwing. What this means is that simply by being in proximity to a character, he should be able to read their complete thoughts without any trouble.
The way I would like this to present in games is through a tiered opt-in system, wherein you are okay with:
-- The bracketspam or prose describing your character's thoughts being read wholesale as-is, with it being presented as a sensical mental conversation to Darkstalker
-- Shades of what your character is thinking can be read by Darkstalker incompletely.
-- Your character's mind cannot be read at all, forcing Darkstalker to act like a normal fucking person. (he won't)
★ Prophecy/Future Sight ★
Another lovely power afforded to Darkstalker is the ability of future sight. While he's not as good at it as his soulmate Clearsight, he is still able to follow certain pathways to the future. What this means for your character if they opt-in:
-- He can figure out a future track up to a week in advance.
-- He might have prophetic visions regarding your character.
His powers otherwise will be muddied reasonably, and he'll find himself getting it wrong from time to time. If you choose to opt out of this power entirely, Darkstalker won't be able to discern your character's future, or have any visions regarding them at all. If you do opt in, just chat with me about how you'd like to play it out!

Underneath the illusion that Altair is human, he's a being made of pure magic. Having Darkstalker pick up on details from the perspective of his magic could be fun to play with if you are interested?
Can Darkstalker have visions/future sight about your character?: Yes!
(NOTE: If yes, we'll have to keep up IC communication from time to time if you want him to get a read, because it won't happen too often! Nightwings don't always have bombastic prophecies, as much as they'd like you to believe it.)

But looking into a Jenova-tainted abyss occasionally has the abyss looking back. Sephiroth's mind is not a nice place to be, and his thoughts echo that. He thinks in very clear words, rarely pictures, and lots and lots of emotion. Few of these emotions are nice.
Can Darkstalker have visions/future sight about your character?: Sure why not.
Like Altair above, Sephiroth looks human but is very blatantly not. Doesn't even smell much like one.

Date: 2024-09-09 09:15 am (UTC)At what level of mind-reading would you like to opt in to?: Incomplete thought skimming. (It's probably going to feel a little detached while he's wearing the Moon Knight suit, like he's not really himself, and more of a sincere jumbled mess when he's out of the suit)
Can Darkstalker have visions/future sight about your character?: Yes, but considering the nature of Folkmore and how little Marc actively does in this realm, the visions won't be too interesting. Just him watching TV, hanging out with Steven and/or Layla, or running around in cat form, lmao. Whenever I plan to do something big during an event, it'll probably be in a plotting post or on my plurk.
